CHISAGO CITY, Minn. (KNSI) Local and state authorities are now involved in the search for a missing woman in Chisago County.
Twenty seven year-old Danielle Jelinek left a private residence in Chisago City on foot in the early morning hours this past Sunday, and has not been seen or heard from since.
Friends and family of the woman searched a two-mile swath along a Chisago County highway Wednesday, looking for clues. Family members say they don't believe Jelinek would simply walk away. They suspect foul play in her disappearance.
The man Jelinek was with right before she disappeared is in custody on unrelated charges.
Jelinek's personal belongings--including her purse, cell phone, shoes and car--were found at his Chisago Lake Township home Sunday. That home is about a mile from a wooded area that was being combed by volunteers Wednesday.
