ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) Falling temperatures have turned a rainy weekend into a snowy start to the work week.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for southeastern Minnesota, including the cities of Rochester and Winona. Flood warnings are also in effect west of Red Wing and north of Mankato.

Eight inches of snow has fallen in Albert Lea. Winona and Rochester have about 7 inches of new snow. Some school districts are delaying the start of classes Monday because of travel conditions, including Austin, Albert Lea, Caledonia and Goodhue.

Forecasters say the rate of falling snow exceeded 1 inch per hour in some spots Sunday night.
