SAVAGE, Minn. (AP) - A Savage police officer was critically injured when he crashed his squad car on an icy road.
Police say Officer Frank Mackall was responding to a report of a prowler Monday when his squad slid off a road and slammed into a tree. The 39-year-old officer was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The Star Tribune says says Mackall was alone in his car and was on his way to assist three other officers responding to the report of a prowler.
