ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - A Sauk Rapids woman is in critical condition after authorities say she tried to cross Highway 23 in St. Cloud last night and was hit by car.

The crash happened just after 10 o-clock when the State Patrol says a car struck 34-year-old Jacelyn Growney of Sauk Rapids as she crossed 23 near 7th Avenue South in the downtown area.

Investigators say the Growney, now in St. Cloud Hospital, attempted to cross the road against a red light. The driver of the car, 22-year-old Daniel Davidson of St. Cloud was not hurt in the collision and no charges are expected to be filed.
