SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. (KNSI) A St. Cloud man was injured last night after being hit by a train in Sauk Rapids.
Police Chief Perry Biese says it happened around 5 pm at a railroad crossing at 1945 Benton Drive.
Fifty five year-old Kevin Mitchell Olson was walking with another man across the tracks after a crossing arm had come down. The northbound BNSF freight train struck the man.
He was treated at the scene and then taken to St. Cloud Hospital with a serious leg injury.
Biese says the train was traveling approximately 57 miles per hour when Olson was hit.
