ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Sartell teenager was given a Citizen Life Saving Award at Tuesday's Stearns County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Eighteen year-old Kevin Hollingsworth was swimming at Quarry Park with freinds on June 15th when he saw someone go under and appeared to be in trouble.

Hollingsworth jumped in the quarry and swam to find the person. When he got there, the man was under water and unconcious.

Hollingsworth lifted the man out of the water and brought him to shore where he regained conciousness and fully recovered.

Sheriff John Sanner says if not for the heroic actions of Hollingsworth, he believes the man he rescued would have died.

Sanner says Hollingsworth is a "shining example of how regular people react to a situation and perform in an extraordinary manner."
