SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) The Sartell-St. Stephen School Board--on a unanimous vote--has chosen to enter into contract negotiations with Jeff Schweibert to serve as the new superintendent of schools.
Schweibert was selected from among nearly 40 people who applied for the job.
The board interviewed seven semi-finalists last week, then narrowed the list to three finalists who were interviewed further this week.
Last night, Schweibert was selected for the position. He has most recently served as Superintendent of North Scott Community School District in Eldridge, Iowa.
Assuming the successful completion of contract negotations, Schweibert will start his new job in July.
Interim Superintendent Mike Spanier will continue to serve in his role through the transition process.
