SARTELL, Minn. (AP) Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes says officers from his department were involved in a brief police pursuit Friday involving a stolen SUV, with speeds reaching up to 100 miles per hour.
The chase began at Riverside Avenue South when an officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle that had been driving eratically.
But the driver of that white-colored Ford Escape fled westbound, eventually turning into a residential area.
When the SUV emerged onto Second Street South, Hughes says officers stopped the pursuit in the interest of safety.
