SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) - After more than 100 years on the bank of the Mississippi River, it looks like the former Verso paper mill is headed for demolishing.
According to reports, AIM Development has filed paperwork seeking a permit to begin demolishing nearly every building on the property. AIM Development purchased the Verso paper mill following a fire and explosion killed one worker and caused major damage in May of 2012.
The Sartell City Council will rule on the permit Monday, July 8th, and is expected to approve the measure. If approved, demolition will begin this month and could take more than a year to complete.
AIM has announced that they plan on saving and reusing the the yellow brick of the orginial mill.
