SARTELL, MN (KNSI) - It's far from being a done deal...but plans are moving ahead on a new community center in Sartell.
The city council met this week, and hired GLT Architects to help them with the project. The architectural firm will be meeting with a task force and community groups to talk about design plans and a preliminary budget for the project.
Task force members will start meeting next month. They'll be looking at potential locations for the community center, along with what kind of amenities it should have, and how much it'll cost to operate it. Construction could begin as early as 2014.
Six years ago, Sartell voters approved using one-point-six million dollars in sales tax proceeds to fund a new community center.
