MONTICELLO, Minn. (KNSI) The State Patrol says a father and son from Monticello were injured Monday afternoon when a suburban driven by an armed robbery suspect crashed into them. It happened just after 5:30 .

The suspect--47 year-old Kevin Greene of Monticello--was being chased by Big Lake police following a report of an armed robbery in Big Lake. Greene was driving east in the westbound lanes of Broadway Street in Monticello when he crashed into a car driven by 28 year-old Travis Kolles of Monticello.

Kolles and his one year-old son Layton were both seriously injured and were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Greene was taken to New River Hospital in Monticello with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The patrol says alcohol was detected on Greene.
