ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Twenty Minnesota National Guard Soldiers will be honored on Saturday in St. Cloud.
Company B, 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion finished a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan as part of the Resolute Support Mission.
While deployed, the airmen executed a variety of missions including cargo movement, passenger movement, and helicopter assault missions.
Over the course of their deployment, the company flew over 3,000 aircraft hours and executed over 300 combat missions across Afghanistan.
They moved over a million pounds of cargo and flew over 100 operations in support of ground forces.
The return ceremony is Saturday at 9 a.m. at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud.
The National Guard unit is based out of the St. Cloud Airport.
The unit was deployed last July.
Saturday is Armed Forces Day across the country.
