DULUTH, MN (AP) - Rescuers have found a 13-year-old boy who disappeared underwater after jumping into Lake Superior off the Duluth shore.
Searchers used boat poles, grappling hooks and a remotely operated vehicle with a camera to help locate the boy Monday afternoon. Firefighters were floating in survival suits trying to find the boy in the cold water.
Acting Duluth Assistant Fire Chief Ron Booth tells the Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/LOJA4D) the remotely operated vehicle helped move the boy to where rescuers could reach him.
The boy was taken to a Duluth hospital. The St. Louis County sheriff's office said he was in critical condition.
The boy was reported missing about 4:15 p.m. He was recovered underwater more than 30 minutes later.
