ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign ended short of its goal.
With a week to go until Christmas the red kettle campaign was $87,000 away from their goal.
"Considering where we were about a week before Christmas we came out pretty good, but we were behind," said Jim Mullenbach with the Salvation Army.
Officials say they collected $189,000, which was $11,000 short of their $200,000 goal.
Even though the red kettles are gone until next year, you can still help out the Salvation Army now.
"The general Christmas campaign goes through January 15th, so you can still donate online or even send a check into the Salvation Army and just label it as Christmas campaign," said Mullenbach.
Just because the Salvation Army didn't make this year's goal doesn’t mean any program will be cut, it just means there will be a little less money to go around.
In 2015, the St. Cloud Area Salvation Army surpassed its goal of $185,000 with $197,351 collected.
