St. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Hotter than a firecracker. That might be a good description for our Fourth of July weather in Minnesota.

The area remains in an Excessive Heat Warning through 10 pm tomorrow.

The high temperature in St. Cloud today is expected to be between 95 and 100, with the heat index reaching triple digits.

This will be the first Fouth of July that St. Cloud has been above 90 degrees since 1999, when the high was 91. And if the temperature reaches 100, it would be the first time that's happened since June 7th of last year, when the high was 101.

Today's record high for St. Cloud is 96 degrees set in 1988, so this could go down as the hottest Independence Day in recorded history in the city.
