ANOKA, Minn. (KNSI) State troopers say a Ramsey teenager who was crossing a highway in Anoka has died after being struck by a vehicle.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened Monday about 7:40 p.m. as the girl tried to cross Highway 10. The Anoka County sheriff's office identified her Tuesday as 16-year-old Hannah Craft.
The accident happened about a mile-and-a-half from an intersection where a Texas couple was struck and killed two months ago. The two were crossing against a red light on foot when they were struck.
Local officials would like to see overpasses built along parts of the highway to make it safer for pedestrians. However, the project is on indefinite hold because it would cost $300 million to $350 million.
