ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission has given the green light to two proposed wind farms in western Stearns County.
Black Oak Wind LLC--a susidiary of Edina-based Geronimo Wind Energy--is proposing a 42-megawatt Black Oak Wind Farm adjacent to a 40-megawatt community-based wind farm known as Getty Wind.
The PUC vote on Thursday was the final state approval the two projects needed.
The two companies still need to secure financing for the wind farms, which would cover about 22 square miles.
