ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Voters in western Stearns County head to the polls Tuesday to vote in a primary for an open seat on the County Board of Commissioners.

Stearns County Elections Director Dave Walz says five candidates are on the ballot, and the top two finishers will advance to the January 28th special election.

Alan Loch of Belgrade, Steve Notch of Freeport, Jeff Bertram of Paynesville, and Brad Kirckof and Dave Gamradt of Sauk Centre are running for the District 5 commission seat that opened up in August following the death of Commissioner Don Otte.

Polls are open from seven am until eight pm.
