ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man faces domestic assault charges after allegedly attacking and attempting to strangle his girlfriend, a St. Cloud police spokesman said.

Raymond Leroy Wiley Jr. was arrested Tuesday night shortly after St. Cloud police arrived at the home on the 300 block of 33rd Avenue North, St. Cloud police Sgt. Jeff Janssen said.

The 24-year-old victim told police that she and Wiley, 43, got into an argument which prompted Wiley to try to strangle her.

Wiley was booked into the Stearns County Jail on charges of felony domestic assault and domestic assault by strangulation.

The victim was not injured and did not require medical attention following the assault, Janssen said.
