LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (KNSI) The Morrison County Sheriff's Office is receiving new bullet and stab protective vests for its K-9's thanks to the efforts of a Massachusetts non-profit.

Vested Interest Inc. is a volunteer charity whose mission is to provide protective vests for law enforcement dogs througout the country.

Each vest costs $950 and comes with a five year warranty.

Vested Interest has provided more than 580 vests to police dogs in 38 states.

K-9 Benny and his handler, Deputy Dan Rocheleau, have already received their vest, while K-9 Rocky and his handler, Deputy Dave Scherping, currently have their application submitted and are awaiting approval.
