MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) Minneapolis police are investigating after a dead body turned up near the scene of a dumpster fire late Thursday.

Police say they were called to 39th Street between Minnehaha and Snelling Avenue after the fire was reported at around 11:30 p.m.

That’s when a body, burned so badly that investigators aren’t certain whether it was a man or woman, was found lying next to the dumpster.

Police believe it was a homicide. No information about the victim’s identity or cause of death has yet been released.
