DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Duluth police say an officer shot and killed an armed robbery suspect.
Authorities say officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle Sunday about 10:30 p.m., but the car sped away and police began a pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect crashed into a house and fled.
Police say the man ran into a nearby house and shot at two officers who pursued him. One officer returned fire, killing the man. A woman in the house suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital. The officers were not injured.
Police say they began pursuing the car because it matched the description of one wanted in a Walgreens robbery on Saturday. The Duluth News Tribune reports the man suspected of robbing the Walgreens' pharmacy took a car at gunpoint from a motorist shortly after the robbery.
