POPE COUNTY, Minn. (KNSI) - Two men and a woman, suspected in an possible armed robbery, are in jail following a 20 mile police chase.
The Minnesota State Patrol says they received word of a robbery involving a gun at about 8:15 on Wednesday morning near Cyrus. The vehicle reportedly involved with the alleged robbery then headed east on Hwy 28.
Officers say they spotted a vehicle about half an hour later matching the description of the vehicle purportedly involved.
When troopers attempted a stop on the vehicle, the driver fled east on I-94 at speeds reaching 88 mph. Authorities then used a device to deflate the tires of the vehicle when it reached Freeport.
The vehicle's driver continued to flee on several deflated tires before a trooper initiated a PIT manuever, resulting in the vehicle running off the road and through a fence in Albany.
The three suspects, whose names have not been released, were taken into custody. There were no injuries reported during the 15 minute chase.
The robbery remains under investigation by the Pope County Sheriff's Department.
