ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Doctor Terry Pladson has announced plans to retire as president and CEO of CentraCare Health on December 31, 2014.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Pladson joined Internal Medicine Associates of St. Cloud as a pulmonologist in 1978. He later became president of St. Cloud Clinic of Internal Medicine, and eventually co-president of CentraCare Health System with John Frobenius until Frobenius retired in 2002. Since then, Pladson has been CentraCare's only president.

Pladson says he intends to do his best, "to make the next 12 months a year of progress toward achieving CentraCare Health's vision of being the leader in Minnesota for quality, safety, service and value."

CentraCarer Health will work with an executive search firm to conduct a national search for Pladson's replacement.
