FORESTON, Minn. (AP) A 17-year-old Foreston boy died when he was hit by a car as he was trying to cross a highway.

The State Patrol says the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday on Highway 23 in Foreston, which is in Mille Lacs County of east-central Minnesota. The Patrol says a car that was eastbound on Highway 23 hit Tyler D. Collison as he was crossing the road.

The Patrol says alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
