WASECA, MN (KNSI) – DFL Congressman Tim Walz now knows who his Election Day opponent will be in Minnesota's 1st Congressional District.
Former state Represntative Allen Quist defeated State Senator Mike Parry of Waseca in a Republican Primary Tuesday. Once the results were decided in favor of Quist, the focus moved to the overall success of the party and helping Quist's cause.
"This is important, November is important," Parry said. "I totally expect all of the Republican Party to gather around Allen and we will do the best we can and I am looking for a victory in November with Allen Quist being our next congressman."
Parry made news in the final days leading up to the primary when he accused Governor Mark Dayton of being a pill popper.
