ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) - The resources of the St. Cloud Fire Department were tested overnight with back-to-back fires at a house and an apartment building.
The call on the house fire came in around 10:30 when Fire Chief Bill Mund says flames caused extensive damage to the residence at 41 31st Avenue North. Flames shot through the roof and front of the home.
Just as fire crews finished up with the house fire, a second serious call came in, thanks to the overnight storms.
Lightning struck an eight-unit apartment building at 1526 16th Avenue Southeast. Everyone got out ok, but damage there is extensive.
Sauk Rapids and Waite Park fire departments provided mutual aid assistance.
