SARTELL, MN (KNSI) - The Minnesota Fire Marshal's Office has wrapped up its on-site investigation into the cause of the Verso paper mill explosion and fire in Sartell.
While a final report is still several weeks away, Sartell City Administrator Patti Gartland says the investigation has determined there was no criminal activity involved in the incident.
The city is still collecting information from assisting agencies on how much money they spent on the response, and whether they had any equipment lost or damaged. Gartland says once a final bill has been tallied, it will be submitted to Verso so they can turn it over to their insurance carrier.
More than 90 regional fire departments responded to the fire on Memorial Day that killed one worker and injured four.
