ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - The quick thinking of neighbors may have saved a St. Cloud woman's life during a housefire.
St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says the fire at 224 37th Avenue North started around 12:45 a.m on Thursday, while the lone resident was sleeping.
When officers arrived, the home and semi-attached garage were visibly on fire.
However, the woman was already out of the home after neighbors alerted her by knocking on her windows.
Additionally, a passerby secured her exit by forcing open a door that had become stuck.
Fire crews were then able to rescue the woman's small dog from the blaze.
No one was injured during the incident.
The St. Cloud Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
