ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Salvation Army has discovered a pattern of generosity in the Twin Cities area.

Ten $100 bills have been showing up in red kettles across the north suburbs. It's happened at least six times. Salvation Army spokeswoman Annette Bauer says the organization is assuming it's the same donor.

Bauer tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that it's not the only example of unusual generosity this season. She says someone put a $23,000 cashier's check into a kettle earlier this month.

The Salvation Army has set a donation goal of $11.4 million. So far, donors have given $4.8 million.
