ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - A push to change an ordinance allowing motocross tracks in Stearns County has been denied.

During their Tuesday meeting, the County Board of Commissioners voted 3-1 not to amend the current Land Use and Zoning ordinance.

As it stands, motocross tracks will not be allowed anywhere in the county. The amendment would have made it legal to build them in certain parts of the county without restriction.

The process began in April, when the board opted to delay decision-making.

Those opposing the change cited noise as their primary concern.
