Morrison Co man arrested in shooting deaths

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (KNSI) A Morrison County man has been arrested after he told police he shot and killed two teenagers who allegedly broke into his house.

The sheriff's department says police visited the 64-year-old man's home Friday afternoon near Little Falls. Officers say he immediately confessed to killing two people about noon the previous day.

Deputies found the bodies of an 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy in his basement.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says information discovered during the investigation led authorities to arrest him for second-degree murder.

Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel says people have every right to defend themselves and their homes, but circumstances suggest that the man went beyond that point.

The man is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday.
