ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI)  The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for west-central and central Minnesota from 3 pm Monday through Monday night.

A low pressure system moving northeast from the central plains will bring freezing rain and potentially heavy snow to the watch area late Monday and Monday night.

The precipitation is expected to begin as freezing rain and then transition to snow during the evening hours.

A light coating of ice is possible along with the potential for snowfall reaching six inches.

There remains uncertainty on the location and amount of the freezing rain and snow with this system.

Cities in the Winter Storm Watch include St. Cloud, Little Falls, Alexandria, Morris, Glenwood, Montevideo, and Willmar.
