MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) Xcel Energy says fifteen natural gas employees will deploy this morning from the Twin Cities to the east coast to help restore natural gas service to systems damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
The Minnesota employees will be accompanied by one manager, a safety consultant and fleet technician and will join up with six Xcel Energy natural gas employees and a manager in Wisconsin before continuing east.
They'll travel to West Hempstead, New York where they'll be peforming service work on gas meters and relighting residents' appliances as service is restored.
The deployment is expected to last two weeks.
