ELK RIVER, MN (KNSI) - A Monticello man is due in court today to face criminal charges in the deaths of two people in Sherburne County in April.

Nineteen-year-old Cody Moen is accused of driving in excess of 90 miles per hour on Sherburne County Road 17 in Big Lake Township when he crashed into a motorcycle. The driver of the bike, 31 year-old Brien Wickham of Big Lake, and a passenger, 26 year-old Jacquelyn Lee of Ramsey, both died.

Eye witnesses reported Moen had been driving at an excessive speed and a State Patrol accident reconstruction team confirmed those reports.

Moen, arrested Monday, is being held in the Sherburne County Jail. He's expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
