ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — An employee of Minnesota's health insurance exchange no longer works for the agency after accidentally releasing private information about insurance agents.

MNsure executive director April Todd-Malmov is updating the agency's board of directors Friday on the response to last week's data breach. MNsure revealed last week that an employee inadvertently emailed a list of private information on agents including Social Security and driver's license numbers.

The agency says information was released on about 1,600 agents, not 2,400 as originally reported.

Todd-Malmlov says the worker was violating a MNsure internal policy by storing unencrypted personal information on a computer desktop. It was not immediately clear if the worker was fired or reassigned to another agency.

MNsure says it's conducting a "workstation by workstation" review of data privacy measures.
