HAM LAKE, Minn. (KNSI) We now know the name of Minnesota's newest millionaire.
Paul White of Ham Lake had one of three winning tickets from last nights drawing. White chose to take the lump sum cash option which, after taxes will net him just over 53 million dollars.
The Minnesota Lottery says White purchased the ticket at a Holiday store on Crosstown Boulevard in Ham Lake. Holiday will also see a windfall for selling the winner. The company will get 50-thousand dollars.
The other Powerball winners were in New Jersey. Together with White they will split the more than 448 million dollar jackpot.
White is Minnesota's 22nd Powerball jackpot winner. The state record was a ticket sold in 2011 to Thomas and Kathleen Morris, of Burnsville, who chose the $123.6 million cash option.
