ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann has turned her attention to restocking her congressional campaign account and says she brought in more than $550,000 so far in 2012.
The fundraising total to be reported this weekend to federal regulators has left her with about $650,000 going forward. The account is distinct from one she formed to wage a presidential run, which at last report was more than $1 million in debt.
Bachmann is running for a fourth term in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District. Her challenger may not be known for several months; a few Democrats are vying for the nomination.
One of them, hotel owner Jim Graves, has loaned his campaign $100,000 according to a federal filing.
Bachmann must also give an update on her presidential campaign finances by a weekend deadline.
