TEMPE, Az. (AP) Authorities say the body of an Arizona State University student with ties to Minnesota was found handcuffed and beaten in the Tempe apartment of her boyfriend, who's accused of killing her.

Tempe police say 22-year-old Luis Soltero is being held on $1 million bail in the death of 19-year-old Rebecca Kasper.

Police say Soltero came into a police substation Tuesday morning to report his girlfriend's death and gave officers her Minnesota driver's license.

Officers went to the apartment and found Kasper's body in the bathtub covered with blankets and a rubber mat with a plastic bag over her head. Police say Kasper had blunt force trauma to the head and face. A dumbbell with blood on it was found near the bathtub.

Kasper was born in St. Cloud. Her parents live in Northfield, and her sister is a pre-med student at St. Cloud State.

Kasper was a junior at Arizona State, majoring in marketing.
