FARMINGTON, MN (AP) - A Farmington man is accused of roughing up a boy who allegedly played a doorbell prank.

Police say the man was fed up with so called ''ding-dong ditchers'' ringing his doorbell and running away, so he waited one night until the troublemakers returned.

Authorities say 45-year-old David Dykhuizen chased them down and tackled one boy. The boy told investigators he was thrown against a fence, punched in the ribs and dragged into the street by his hair. Police say he suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Dykhuizen told the St. Paul Pioneer Press there's a ''tremendous amount of lying'' on the boy's part.

The criminal complaint says Dykhuizen acknowledged pulling to boy into the street to get a better look at him.

Dykhuizen is charged with felony third-degree assault.
