Melrose man arrested in shooting

UPSALA, Minn. (KNSI) A Melrose man was arrested and a Sauk Centre man injured after a shooting near Upsala.

Deputies with the Morrison County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol officers were called early Saturday morning to a home off Highway 238 south of Upsala. That's where they found 27 year-old Samuel Bennett with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

Authorities arrested 23 year-old Gerardo Botello-Garcia. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says he admitted his involvement in the shooting, and is being held pending formal charges.
