ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota founder of the popular CaringBridge Web site is abruptly ending a bid for Congress that she launched just weeks ago.

Sona Mehring told supporters in an email Wednesday that she's returning to the company she started rather than trying to head to Washington. She was running in the district now represented by Republican Rep. John Kline. Last week, Kline said he was running for a seventh term.

Mehring says her work at CaringBridge ``was not done.'' The site allows families of people who are seriously ill to keep loved ones apprised of their situation.

Mehring says she will return the contributions she received for her run. Former state Rep. Mike Obermueller is the only other Democrat currently seeking to challenge Kline. Obermueller lost to Kline last November.
