McHale mourns death of daughter

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) The daughter of former Minnesota Timberwolves coach and general manager Kevin McHale has died.

Alexandra McHale was just 23 years old. Alexandra--who was known to friends and family as Sasha--played high school basketball at Totino-Grace High School and later attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

She died Saturday from complications associated with the disease lupus.

Kevin McHale is now the coach of the Houston Rockets. He took a leave of absence on November 10th to be with his family.

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor released a statement saying Sasha will be "sorely missed by her family and friends."
