ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man faced several assault counts after allegedly attacking a group of staffers and others at St. Cloud Hospital Tuesday, according to St. Cloud police.
Hospital security officers were forced to use a Taser to bring down Matthew Lee Sanders of St. Cloud following the fight in the hospital just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, St. Cloud police Sgt. Marty Sayre said.
Investigators said Sanders, 28, launched into an attack on six people, including four hospital care staffers, a hospital security officer and a patient.
Sayre said two of the victims suffered serious injuries, including loose and cracked teeth and cuts that required stitches.
Other security officers used the Taser to get Sanders under control and into custody.
Sanders was taken to the emergency room and and treated before he transported to the Stearns County Jail.
Sanders was charged with two counts of 3rd degree assault as well as four counts of 5th degree assault.
