MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - A Moorhead man has agreed to plead guilty in the death of his infant daughter, who died after she was left in a hot minivan for several hours.

Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says Andrew Sandstrom will take responsibility for causing the death of his 5-month-old daughter, Christiana, in June.

Police say Sandstrom forgot about the infant while unloading five other young children out of the vehicle. The other children are in foster care.

Sandstrom agreed to plead guilty to second-degree manslaughter. He earlier pleaded not guilty and was scheduled to go on trial next Tuesday.

Instead of seeking prison time, the prosecutor says he will recommend that Sandstrom get a one-year jail term and be allowed work release. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 11.
