ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A man was killed when his truck rear-ended a MnDOT snow plow on Highway 10 in Benton County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the MnDOT plow was actively plowing on westbound Highway 10, south of Royalton, around 11:30 Tuesday morning when it was hit by a Snap-on truck that was also westbound.

The driver of the truck, 30-year-old Timothy Michael Ekhoff of St. Michael was killed.

The operator of the plow was 57-year-old Judy Marie Breyfogle of Little Falls.

She suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Investigators say the plow had its lights activated, and this reinforces the importance of slowing down in snowy conditions and giving snow plows plenty of room to do their jobs.

A go-fund-me page has been set up to help the Ekhoff family with funeral expenses. To donate click here.
