REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (KNSI) A Slayton man has died after fleeing from sheriff's deputies in two counties, and then ramming his motorcycle into a State Patrol squad car. It happened Saturday night.
The Patrol says 33 year-old Chad Danneman was armed with a knife and led deputies from Cottonwood and Murray counties on high-speed pursuits. Both pursuits were terminated.
A State Patrol trooper later spotted Danneman stopped on County Road 10 in Cottonwood County. He activated his emergency lights. That's when Danneman began driving his motorcycle toward the squad car at a very high speed and crashed into the squad car head-on.
Danneman was thrown from the cycle and died at the scene.
The trooper--identified as 42 year-old Jeffery Stearns of Marshall--had minor injuries.
