MILAN, Minn. (KNSI) A Granite Falls man was killed Monday in an accident in Chippewa County.

The State Patrol says 61 year-old George Piasecki was northbound on U.S. Highway 59 north of Milan when he met an approaching semi.

The semi was carrying an oversized load when it struck an overhead railroad bridge, causing the load to come off the truck and land on Piasecki's car.

Piasecki was killed.

The semi was driven by 66 year-old Dennis Clark of Vernal, Utah. He was not injured.

The accident was reported just before seven o'clock Monday morning.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Milan Fire Department, Appleton Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
