BROCKWAY TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KNSI) - A Rice man was hospitalized and another faced possible drunk driving charges after he rolled a car in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning, Stearns County Sheriff's officials said.
Investigators said Brandon Popp of Rice was behind the wheel when the car he was driving left the roadway while rounding a turn on Stearns County Road 2 south of County Road 1 in Brockway Township just after 1 a.m. Sunday, Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner said.
When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle on its roof in the ditch along the roadway.
One of Popp's passengers, Grant Vogt, 20, of Rice, was transported by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sanner said. Two other passengers, including a 17-year-old from Sartell and another 17-year-old from Sauk Rapids, were not hurt.
Popp, 19, was arrested for criminal vehicular operation. Alcohol was believed to have played a role in the crash.
The accident remained under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Department.
