RICE, Minn. (KNSI) A Sartell man was rescued from Little Rock Lake Friday morning after falling through thin ice.

Thirty year-old Joshua Johnson was about 150 to 200 yards from shore on the east side of the lake near Erdmann's Point when Benton County Sheriff's Officials got a call saying  he fell through.

A number of agencies--including Rice police and fire, the State Patrol, DNR, Gold Cross Ambulance and Benton Sheriff's deputies all responded. They used a rubber raft and boat to rescue Johnson, who had become submerged  in about ten feet of water.

Johnson was believed to have been ice fishing on the lake and fell though. The ice thickness was less than two inches near the shoreline.

Johnson had been listed in critical condition at St. Cloud Hospital earlier in the day, but was no longer listed as a patient last night.

Authorities are advising people to stay off lakes because ice conditions are still not safe.
